Review
Myself, my daughter, grandson and our small dog have just returned from a Monday to Friday break at Hafan y Mor. We had stayed at this site some years ago, and it definitely looked like some money had been spent on it, particularly around the boating lake area. We stayed in a comfort apartment, and I can't fault it! It was compact, but we didn't feel squashed, it was well equipped and was pristine! Checking in was simple, and didn't take too long. This was helped by the fact that people staying in caravans, check in separately from those staying in apartments. The beach is rocky, but this didn't stop my grandson (and the dog) from enjoying spending time on it. The pool is great fun, it does get busy, but was never overcrowded! There were a couple of negatives though, one was the cost of eating in The Coast House Grill. The menu was OK, but for the cost you didn't want OK, you wanted spectacular! The Cakery attached to it was also very expensive, for cake that looked much better than it tasted! We ended up shopping and eating our own! The other negative, for us, was the entertainment club (The Cove.) We strolled along at around 7.30pm for the entertainment aimed at my grandson's age bracket, which was due to start at 8.00pm. It was so overcrowded, with tables, squashed together, and packed with families, with more families ensconced around the walls because there was nowhere to sit! We walked in and walked straight back out again! We didn't attempt to go back, but we did see people queued up outside well before it was due to open! Obviously, some people are happy to do this, but it was not for us! We found every member of staff we encountered or interacted with to be pleasant, helpful and understanding of my grandson, who has additional needs! We would definitely go back!
This year has been a record year for holidays in the UK next year is expected to be even better.
